The 2025 Rip Curl GromSearch Oz Cup returns with fresh energy and a national focus, bringing together Australia’s best junior surfers for five days of elite competition in Coffs Harbour from 17–21 July.

As a key fixture in the Surfing Australia Junior Pathway, the event will feature divisions from Under 12 through to Under 18, giving emerging talent the chance to earn national ranking points and progress to the National Final.

This is a 6,500-rated event on the Surfing Australia Junior Series. Entries are accepted on a first in, best dressed basis.

• Daily Start Time: 7:30am

  Diggers Beach, Macauleys, Park Beach, Sawtell, North Wall, Emerald Beach

Competition Format

• 4-person heats

• 20-minute duration

• 50% progression

• Best 2 waves scored

Seeding

Seeding will be confirmed on 10 July, following the conclusion of the Skull Candy event.

This event will be run under the Surfing Australia 2025 Rulebook.

Draws & Schedule

Heat draws will be released on Monday 14 July via Live Heats.

• If a place becomes available, the Surfing NSW team will contact you directly via email.
• Only those who receive a spot will be sent the official payment link.
• Event draw sizes and format are fixed as advertised, and unfortunately cannot be expanded.
