G’day Troops
Trusting you have had a great festive season and hopefully Covid free, pretty stoked to see 2021 in the rear view mirror, fingers crossed 2022 will be more user friendly for all of us.
The ABB final is just around the corner, which is a mad weekend in Newie, it’s a bit like an end of season footy trip and bucks weekend all rolled in to one, plenty of beers, cheers and occasional tears if your team gets eliminated early, but a great weekend nonetheless, look forward to catching up with some of you and having a refreshing beverage or two, following Covid safe protocols, of course.

The Good Human Factory – Ride The Wave
RIDE THE WAVE presented by Surfing NSW and The Good Human Factory (NSW, Far North Coast)
Ride the wave is a mental health skill building workshop, which is a free, interactive, fun and practical skill building workshop to encourage good mental health for junior NSW surfers.
Join your local community and workshop facilitator and professional surfer Cooper Chapman for the NSW far north coast workshop.
Date: 22nd January
Time: 4pm
Location: Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (9 Barclay Dr, Casuarina)
Who: Under 19 male and female junior NSW far south coast surfers (All club members & local surfers in the community all welcome!)
A note from Cooper: “ I am extremely proud of the workshop I have developed for young Australians. Growing up mental health was something completely off my radar and I wish I had a better education and understanding of what mental health is. My program encourages participants to shift their mindset around mental health to something to work on maintaining rather than “fixing” when we feel down. I inspire participants to take responsibility and develop key values such as kindness, empathy, mindfulness and gratitude. With great feedback and testimonials I am confident this program will have a lasting impact for all”
This program is proudly supported by Surfing NSW and its Surfing Mental Health 360 platform through the Youth Health Forum (Consumers Health Forum of Australia).
