ABB Overview

The Australian Boardriders Battle is the biggest grassroots boardriders event in Australian surfing history. More than 80 of Australia’s best clubs will go head-to-head in eight State Qualifiers, all fighting for a spot in the two-day National Final for 42 clubs.

The Series

    • Over 80 Boardriders Clubs
    • 8 State Qualifiers
    • 42 clubs battle it out in the National Final

    • 12 NSW Clubs (6 NSW North, 8 NSW Central, 8 NSW South)
    • 8 QLD, 3 VIC, 3 WA, 2 SA, 2 TAS
    • 2 Wildcards by application

NSW Qualifiers Breakdown

    • North Coast Qualifier – Coffs Harbour – September 20, 2025 – Entries are open

NSW North is from Far North Coast + North Coast + Mid-North Coast to Hawkes Nest

    • South Coast Qualifier – Cronulla – Nov 1, 2025

NSW South is from Harbour Bridge to Southside + Sutherland + Illawarra + South Coast

    • Central NSW Qualifier – North Narrabeen – Nov 8, 2025

NSW Central is from Port Stephens to Newcastle + Central Coast + Northern Beaches to Harbour Bridge 

The Format

Australian Boardriders Battle will comprise of a multifaceted format at each State qualifying event and the National Final.

BRC team of 5 individuals must comprise of: 

    • 2 x Opens 
    • 1 x Female
    • 1 x Junior (U18)
    • 1 x Masters (Over 35)

The Prize Pool

    • $24,000 prize money across 8 State events
    • $112,900 prize money at the National Final
    • $22,000 for the National Champions
