Some of the state’s best surfers will return to Boomerang Beach for the Volkswagen NSW Surfmasters Titles Presented by Moby’s Beachside Retreat from 31st May – 4th June.
The prominent five-day event will see over 150 competitors – aged 35 and above – battle it out in an attempt to secure an NSW shortboard title and a spot in the National Titles at the 2023 Australian Surf Championships.
Past event competitors include a range of former World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour surfers and Australian Champions including Damien Hardman (Narrabeen), Shane Wehner (Broulee), Rod Baldwin (Copacabana), Mel Bartz (Pacific Palms) and Sandra English (Budgewoi).
Surfing NSW Head of Events, Competition and Pathway Tom Dickson explained just how iconic this event is.
“The Surf Master States Titles is one of the most exciting events on the Surfing NSW events calendar. It’s a chance to see all your childhood icons battle it out in the water once again whilst also providing a platform for some of our country’s most talented surfers to continue to compete.”
This 2023 event will mark the twelfth Volkswagen NSW Surfmasters Titles presented by Moby’s Beachside Retreat which continues to be held in the Great Lakes region.
Entries for the Volkswagen NSW Surfmasters Titles presented by Moby’s Beachside Retreat open at 5 pm on Wednesday the 8th of February.
The competition will commence each day at 7:30 am with the call for the day’s schedule and location confirmed via the event hotline at 6:45 am. The event hotline is 0458 247 212 where all competitors will receive updates and important information in real time.
Divisions for the event include Over 35 Men, Over 35 Women, Over 40 Men, Over 45 Men, Over 50 Men, Over 55 Men, Over 60 Men and Over 65 Men.
