Sydney, Australia — 7 August 2025, Surfing New South Wales is proud to announce the appointment of David King to its Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director.
David brings with him deep experience across legal, governance, sport and media sectors, and is currently the General Counsel and Company Secretary at Wisr (ASX:WZR), a leading ASX-listed fintech. In his role, David oversees the company’s legal, corporate governance, and operational risk functions.
David brings a wealth of experience in sports, media and entertainment from over eight years as Senior Legal Counsel (APAC) at Endeavor (formerly IMG), the world’s leading sports, media, and entertainment company. During this time, he:
- Advised the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) across APAC
- Advised high-profile sports and media talent represented by IMG
- Played a key legal role in major sponsorship, media rights, event operations, and government tourism partnerships across the Asia-Pacific region
David holds Law and Commerce degrees from the University of Melbourne and is an admitted solicitor in New South Wales.

David’s appointment comes at an important moment for Surfing NSW. The organisation is focused on building long-term impact across community, industry and athlete pathways. His experience will help strengthen our ability to deliver on strategic priorities and support the continued growth of surfing across New South Wales.
He now joins a seasoned Surfing NSW Board alongside Chair Ben Rolleston, Deputy Chair Lyndel Gray, Mark Windon OAM, and Felicity Conlan.
