Avoca Beach, NSW / AUS, (Tuesday, March 14, 2023) – Day two of the 2023 Vissla & Sisstrevolution Central Coast Pro presented Mad Mex, World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) 3,000 saw the females take to the lineup in their opening round of action. With bumpy three-to-four foot surf the womens top seeds put on a spectacular display surfing.

Queensland surfer Raya Campbell (AUS) and Japanese surfer Sara Wakita (JPN) surfer both progressed on through to the Round of 32. In what was a very slow heat for waves the two surfer where both able to find two waves which allowed them to find the open face and display some powerful surfing. Campbell was able to post one of the higher two-wave combine heat totals for the day with 13.60.

“That was a very hard heat to surf, I think as the tide got higher the ocean just seemed to have taken a break. I just knew I had to make the most of my opportunities when the waves came through. I was so lucky that I found that 7.10 right towards the end of the heat.” Campbell said.

Today we also saw top seeds Philippa Anderson (AUS), Anon Matsuoka (JPN), Holly Williams(AUS) and Nyxie Ryan (AUS)  all progress on through to the Round of 32.

We are expecting ideal condition for day three tomorrow with the mens Round of 64 set to hit the water, we will see top seeds hit the water for the first time.
