Iconic Australian clothing brand Mambo have continued to increase its support of grassroots junior surfing, coming onboard as a partner of the 2021 Ocean and Earth Regional Junior Titles series.
The seven Ocean and Earth Regional Title events will run between April and May and will determine the top seeds for the 2021 Woolworths NSW Junior Titles and 2021 Havaianas NSW Grommet State Titles.
The new partnership links in with Mambo’s added support of junior surfers in the state; with the brand sponsoring NSW junior surfers Cooper Puttergill, Holly Wishart, April Davey and Jaya Wardana. The team was carefully selected by Mambo’s official sponsored athlete and former professional WSL Championship Tour surfer Blake Thornton, who will mentor the team throughout the season.

Surfing NSW CEO Luke Madden believes the support from brands like Ocean and Earth and Mambo will continue to ensure the pathway for aspiring junior surfers is supported.
“The junior regional title events are one of the vital first steps on the NSW surfing pathway and it’s thanks to the support from companies like Mambo and Ocean and Earth that we can continue to give surfers a seamless entry into the world of competitive surfing,” said Madden.
Former WSL World Championship Tour surfer and current Ocean and Earth International CEO Phil Macdonald is eager to see the series recommence after not being able to run in 2020 due to Covid-19.
“Ocean and Earth and Surfing NSW have had a healthy relationship that has spanned decades and we share the same vision in being able to create and support a healthy junior pathway for young surfers. We are super excited to be back supporting the 2021 Junior Regional Title events in the state after a year off in 2020,” said Macdonald.
Mambo CEO Paul Cannon is proud to see the partnership flourish.
“Since 1984, Mambo has been part of Australia’s surfing culture and with our Surfing NSW partnership, we see the brand continuing its legacy by supporting the next generation of young surfing talent,” said Cannon.
