The 3rd addition of the Aloha Junior Teams presented by Hurley will light up Manly Beach from the 3rd-4th of September with a range of teams from around the country competing for a share in a whopping $10,000 purse.

With $5,000 going to the winner and the boarders now open, teams from Queensland and Victoria will be out to shut down the strong local contingent , including defending champions North Steyne

The event will see 24 junior boardriders club’s teams compete in a new exciting multiple format that will test the competitive skills of some of this country’s best young talent and with the event live on the Web, clubs will be able to showcase the future of the sport.

Event Director Adam Hennessey;

We are stoked to go again; it’s been such a fun event to organize and the feedback from club has been overwhelming. The Pro Juniors age surfers will now be able to compete and that will be great for the younger guys to feed off.

Interest in the event has been huge, with the likes of Snapper Rocks, Torquay, Noosa, North Shore and Coolum all keen to compete this year.

The competitive nature of inter-club surfing has been on show during the first two years of the Aloha Junior Teams competition and it’s also one of the only stand-alone junior events to be live televised through fresh air broadcast.

This year each team will consist of five surfers:

1 x Pro Junior Male
1 x Pro Junior Female
1 x 18 boy
1 X 16 boy
1 X 14 boy

all clubs will surf each member once with points allotted. for individual heat placing

After all first round heats, the top 12 sides will progress into a tag-team format,

Event director Adam Hennessey believes that’s where the pressure will kick in.

Last year, the excited level of surfers really raised once they hit the tag team format and its when those top guys exceled.

Can’t wait to see what happens this year as its starting to feel like a national event with more quality sides involve

The event will again be broadcast live on surfingnsw.com.au giving friends and family a change to get online and support their local teams.The event is proudly supported by Aloha Manly, Hurley, Dr V Energy, Manly Pacific , NSW State Government, Manly Surf School, Kazzi Manly, Ray White Freshwater, Open 4, Data Processors ,Northern Beaches Council,  Live Heats and Surfing NSW.
