Woolworths NSW Junior State Titles presented by Ocean and Earth
In light of the unfortunate cancellation of the Australian Junior Surfing Titles this year, Surfing NSW is committed and excited to be able to still run the Woolworths NSW Junior State Titles at Illawarra from 18th – 22nd November 2021. Junior surfers from across the state will compete for a coveted state title in Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 age divisions.
“It has been a difficult year for surfing events in the latter part of 2021, so it comes as some comfort that we can still crown some junior state champions in the closing months of the year,” said Surfing NSW CEO Luke Madden. “Due to all competitors residing within NSW state borders and having no need to cross borders – as well as developing a thorough COVID safe plan – we feel the Woolworths Junior State Titles pres. by Ocean and Earth is the perfect event to run for our up-and-coming junior talent. We thank Destination Wollongong for their support and we can’t wait to see who will claim a coveted NSW Title at the end of the event.”
The event will run in a straight knock-out format, under four-person priority rules. Further information on priority rules can be found in the Surfing Australia Rulebook 2021: https://surfingnsw.com.au/2021-rule-book/
Seeding for each age division will be determined by the Surfing NSW State Rankings.
We will be offering full refunds for those affected by the current COVID-19 situation or who cannot attend the rescheduled date; however, it is important to note that competitors will lose their spots once a refund is processed. If they decide to re-enter the event again at a later date, they will be at the end of the waitlist if it is full. If you wish to request a refund, you must do this before 10th November 2021.
Under-14’s participants who entered in the Havaianas Grommet State Titles will automatically be transferred to Woolworths NSW Junior State Titles (Illawarra).

U18’s (Boys & Girls): Thursday 18th – Saturday 20th November 2021
U16’s (Boys & Girls): Wednesday 17th – Saturday 20th November 2021
U14’s (Boys & Girls): Saturday 20th – Monday 22nd November, 2021

Surfing NSW’s subsequent events update will be sent via email on Wednesday 6th October, which will include further details on the NSW Government’s vaccination policies in relation to community sport.
