VOLKSWAGEN NSW SURFMASTERS GRACED WITH PUMPING SURF FOR DAY TWO OF COMPETITION.

Published on 11/06/2021

Day two of the Volkswagen NSW Surfmasters Titles pres. by Moby’s Beachside Retreat saw the younger age divisions get their opportunity to contest playful three-foot surf at North Boomerang Beach.

Shane Conwell (Avalon), Cristo Hall (Narrabeen) and Jeremy Cohen (MacMasters Beach) all shone in the picturesque conditions, with all three surfers taking respectable Over-35 Men’s heat victories with excellent wave scores in excess of 8.00. All three surfers performed a handful of giant and stylish hooks and carves in their respective heats to book their spots straight into the upcoming quarterfinals.

Both Hall and Cohen were joined by Ricky Marshall (Cronulla) and Cameron Sharpe (Shelly Beach) as the standouts in the Over-40 Men’s division with all previously mentioned surfers following a similar trajectory to the younger division, as all surfers posted a series of excellent scores (eight and above).

Tim Quinn (Queenscliff) sent an early precedent in the Over-45 Men’s division posting a solid 8.17 for a mix of searing carves and snaps. Quinn will make his next appearance in the quarterfinals. Bryden Galbraith (Woolgoolga) also showed he’d be a man to watch as the competition continued as he posted an excellent 8.00 wave score.
