The Woolworths NSW Junior State Titles pres. by Ocean and Earth saw another giant day of exciting surf action today as Under-18 and Under-16 competitors duked it out in picturesque waves at Woonona Beach.

Lennix Smith (Barrack Point) continued to build on his earlier momentum as he smashed out a solid 15.17 two-wave heat total in his Under-18 Boys quarterfinal. Smith fought off some impressive competition in the form of Koda Killorn (Maroubra) who trailed just behind in the runner-up position with a decent 14.90 heat total. Both Smith and Killorn will make their next appearance in the semi-finals.

Other Under-18 Boys quarterfinal winners included Kyan Falvey (Cabarita), Jay Pink (Forster) and Xavier Bryce (Long Reef).

Rosie Smart (Sawtell) showed that she hadn’t slowed down since winning the 2020 NSW Junior Titles as she blew away the opposition to claim a huge victory in the Under-18 Girls quarterfinals. Smart hammered out an array of sizeable forehand hits in the exchange to amass a 17.33 two-wave heat total.

Other Under-18 Girls quarterfinal champions included Bonnie Hills and Keira Buckpitt (Culburra Beach).

Sol Gruendling (Freshwater) was one of the many standouts in the Under-16 Boys division, executing a handful of technically sound manoeuvres to finish his round three heat with 14.96.
