FORMER RUGBY LEAGUE STARS TO SURF A SUPERHEAT AT 2020 LIFEGUARD SURFERS CUP.

Published on 17/12/2020

Randwick City Council Lifeguards and Waverley Lifeguards will face off tomorrow in the 2020 Lifeguard Surfers Cup; a fun surfing event that will see competitors flying the flag for their local area.

Much like a local National Rugby League derby, the battle will see each team represented by their local rugby league team, with Team Maroubra surfing as the Rabbitohs and Team Bondi surfing as the Roosters.

Each team will be represented by 10 local surfers and lifeguards from each region.

To add to the excitement of the event, former Australian National Rugby League players Andrew “Joey” Johns, John Sutton and Reni Maitua have confirmed their attendance and will surf in a superheat that will take place prior to the final of the main event.

The 2020 Lifeguard Surfers Cup will see the winning team taking home bragging rights for their team.

All the action will kick off at Maroubra Beach from 7.30am, Friday 18 December 2020.

The 2020 Lifeguard Surfers Cup will be the final surfing event for Surfing NSW for 2020.

The 2020 Lifeguard Surfers Cup is proudly supported by Randwick City Council and Surfing NSW.
