2026 NSW Regional Titles

Overview

The 2026 NSW Regional Series is the first step in the pathway to the 2026 NSW Junior State Titles and the 2026 Australian Junior Titles. If you want to become a State or National Champion, your journey starts with the Regional Events. During March 2026, eleven events will take place across NSW. Competitors who advance will qualify for the 2026 State Titles. The U14 – U18 State Title participants will compete for a spot on Team NSW and a chance to surf at the Australian Junior Titles in Margaret River, Western Australia in 2026. 

Please note: The U12 athletes will conclude their competitive pathway at the State Titles, where an U12 State Champion will be crowned, marking the highest level of achievement in their division*

Dates, Locations, and Boundaries

• Far North Coast: 21 – 22 March – QLD Border to Wooli Beach.
• North Coast: 22 March – Red Rock Beach to Crescent Head.
• Mid North Coast: 29 March – Port Macquarie to Hawks Nest.
• Newcastle: 21 – 22 March – Port Stephens to Catherine Hill Bay.
• Central Coast: 28 – 29 March – Moonee Beach to Umina Beach.
• Northern Beaches: 13 – 15 March – Palm Beach to North of Sydney Harbour Bridge.
• Southern Beaches: 29 March – South of Sydney Harbour Bridge to La Perouse.
• Sutherland Shire: 21 – 22 March – Brighton to Garie Beach.
• Illawarra: 14 – 15 March – Stanwell Park to Killalea State Park.
• South Coast: 22 March – Minnamurra River to Lake Tabourie.
• Far South Coast: 14 – 15 March – Bawley Point to Victorian Border.

Entry Conditions

• You must be a RESIDENT of the region where you are competing (regional boundaries are displayed above)
• You must hold a 2026 NSW Competitive Membership
• Competitors may only compete in ONE Regional Event, even if they have multiple residences.
• The Regional Series is open to everyone, provided you surf in the correct region and age division.

Cost: $80

Key Dates

• Entries Open: 30th January 2025 5pm
• Entries Close: 7th March 2025 5pm

Age Divisions

• Under 18 Boys / Under 18 Girls
• Under 16 Boys / Under 16 Girls
• Under 14 Boys / Under 14 Girls
• Under 12 Boys / Under 12 Girls

Age Clarification: Competitors must be “Under Age” as of 31st December 2026. (e.g., Under 14 division: You cannot turn 14 at any point during the 2026 calendar year.)

Format

• Heat Size: 4 surfers max.
• Heat Duration: 20 minutes.
• Seeding: Based on Rolling Seeding (SA/SNSW).
• Progression: Straight knockout with 50% progression.
• Scoring: The best two waves will count towards the surfer’s final heat score.
• Priority: At the discretion of the Regional Director.

Heat Draw and Schedule

• The heat draw and schedule will be available two days before your event at SNSW Live Heats unless advised otherwise.
• Note: Heat draws and schedules are subject to change*
• Location will be confirmed on the morning of the event via SNSW socials and the Event WhatsApp link.

Rules

• Refer to the Surfing Australia 2025 Rulebook or the most updated version available on the Surfing Australia website.

2026 NSW State Titles 

• Qualification allocations from Regional to State Titles will be confirmed and announced once regional entries have closed.

Conditions

• Refunds: No refunds will be issued within 14 days of the event. All refunds will incur a $10 admin fee.
